(165) They are not “iron maiden” –this is “iron maiden”!


Again from Meiji University’s criminology museum: besides local torture methods and the ones imported from China, apparently the Japanese had a particular interest for European systems too –as can be seen from this fully functional iron maiden. For those wondering why Meiji has a museum such as this, the answer is because it started as a law school and then opened up to other knowledge areas.
