(496) Black thunder

Or, in proper Japanese, “kuroi raijin” (黒い雷神) which actually means “black god of thunder” (incidentally, fans of Asakusa will recognize the character “雷” by its other reading, “kaminari” from the enormous red lantern in Sensoji temple’s Kaminarimon gate). No one calls it “kuroi raijin” though: everybody knows it as “brack sanda” (yes) and is one of the most popular cheap chocolates in Japan. Small, incredibly rich chocolate flavor with crispy bits of chocolate cookies and rice puffs –and only 30 yen ($0.29)
