(508) Oden

I should had written about it in the fall since this is when they appear in convenience stores and pretty much everywhere else. It’s called “oden” (おでん) and it is a hodgepodge/soup consisting of several ingredientssuch as hard-boiled eggs, daikon radish (yeah, the big one), tofu, mushrooms, potatoes and various variations of perhaps the only thing I can’t eat in Japan’s cuisine, a disgusting thing made of processed fish paste called “kamaboko” (蒲鉾).

(For a bigger version of this picture both in color and black and white, check my "Japan Arekore" set on Flickr)
