(606) Washing a bridge #2

As we soon found out, that was the day that the Famous Nihonbashi Bridge Preservation Society organizes its annual washing of the bridge that has starred in countless images from the Edo times until today. About 1500 people participate in this event and they all come from the area –either inhabitants or representatives of the companies and the stores based in Nihonbashi.

Oh, there is also Mangetsu-man (満月マン), a self-proclaimed superhero who has vowed to clean (literally) Tokyo –true story: check his web site to see for yourselves.
