(757) Educated potatoes

They’re called “daigaku-imo” (大学いも) or “university potatoes” because they were allegedly invented at the restaurants near the campuses of Japan’s first universities in the turn of the 20th century. They are fried and caramelized sweet potatoes and they’re great (incidentally, they are one of Asakusa’s specialties).
